On August 19, 2007 Sweetfire enjoyed its first San Francisco gig at the Velo Rouge Cafe located near Golden Gate Park and were well received by the cyclists of the city. Apparently this is THE place to stop when exploring San Fran on wheels, especially the human energy propelled ones. Most everyone had on bike helmets. Singles, couples, and families stopped in for sustenance after, before and during their rides, and stayed to listen to the music and buy some CDs. Though the venue was small, with our first city gig behind us, the goal of expanding our fan base into the Bay Area seems closer than before. We are hopeful with this successful first step in that direction.
